Dr. Bill Hazelton holds Bachelor of Surveying and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Surveying and Land Information at the University of Melbourne. He has 40 years of experience as a cadastral and general surveyor, professor and teacher, business owner, writer and publisher.

Now based in Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Hazelton has held a license as a cadastral surveyor since 1985, surveyed on three continents, taught at six higher educational establishments, taught over 70 different courses, developed 60 different courses, and has published over 100 articles, books, chapters, refereed papers and conference papers.
